Alfie Burden defeated Aaron Canavan 8-4 to win the 2025 World Seniors Snooker Championship at the iconic Crucible Theatre.
Burden, who was a professional on the World Snooker Tour for more than three decades, defeated Tony Drago, Jimmy White, Hassan Kerde and finally Canavan to lift the biggest title of his career at snooker’s most famous venue.
He had previously reached the title match in 2023 with impressive victories against Ken Doherty and Stephen Hendry.
Following dominant wins against the two former world champions, Burden then overcame Ben Hancorn 4-1 in the semi-final to set up a final meeting with Jimmy White – losing out 5-3 to ‘The Whirlwind’.
