Bio

Igor Figueiredo made history for Brazil in 2024 when he defeated Ken Doherty 5-2 at the Crucible Theatre to win the World Seniors Championship.

The Brazilian secured his place in the event by winning the Pan-American Seniors Championship and defeated Tessa Davidson in the opening round before whitewashing the defending champion Jimmy White.

A 4-1 semi-final victory over Tony Drago set up a final meeting with Doherty, where Figueiredo took four frames in a row to open up a 4-1 lead before eventually getting over the line 5-2.

In September 2024, Figueiredo secured back-to-back televised titles on Channel 5 by defeating Jimmy White 2-1 in the final of the Mr Vegas World Seniors Snooker 900 at the Connexin Live in Hull.

Figueiredo has competed on the World Snooker Tour on three separate spells in his career, most recently in 2022, and reached the last 16 stage of ranking events on three separate occasions.

He previously reached the semi-finals of the World Seniors Championship in 2021 and was runner-up to Doherty at the 2018 UK Seniors Championship.
