The World Seniors Snooker (WSS) ranking lists have been updated following the fourth event of the Race to the Crucible series at The Crucible Club in Reading last weekend.
The top two players on the official WSS ranking list, as well as the top two on the ‘Race to the Crucible’ one-year list will earn their places in the World Seniors Championship, and they will be joined by the winner of a ‘Top 16 Shootout’ event – where players ranked between third and tenth on each list will compete for the final place.
One point is awarded for each frame won at an event and, should the same players sit in the top two of both rankings lists, then the official world rankings would take priority.
Dharminder Lilly and Wayne Townsend are now tied in first position in the official World Seniors Snooker (WSS) two-year ranking list.
Both players fell at the quarter-final stage in Reading last weekend but sit in top spot as a result of their consistency on the WSS tour.
Event four winner Andrew Norman climbs into the top ten, moving from 14th to eight as a result of his recent success. Meanwhile, event one winner Alfie Burden and event two winner Rory McLeod remain in fourth and 13th respectively.
Former world number one Stuart Watson maintains third position and sits just four points behind top spot. The rest of the top ten is currently made up by Philip Williams, Aaron Canavan, Nigel Howe, Gary Filtness and Gerard Greene.
Dharminder Lilly remains top of the ‘Race to the Crucible’ series ranking list after reaching the quarter-finals in Reading last weekend.
The gap at the top has been narrowed to just three points, however, by second-placed Wayne Townsend while event four runner-up Philip Williams climbs to third.
Andrew Norman, who took home the trophy last weekend, jumps from 29th to 13th position in the latest ranking list.
The rest of the top ten are made up by Aaron Canavan, Gerard Greene, Anthony Harris, Alfie Burden, Gary Filtness, Matt Ford and Nigel Howe with five events still to play.
John Hunter has maintained his position at the top of the Super Seniors ranking list despite falling to eventual champion Anthony Harris at the quarter-final stage last weekend.
Harris’ success in Reading sees him lead from 26th to ninth position, while runner-up Karl Townsend moves into 15th after reaching the final in his first Super Seniors event of the campaign.
Mukesh Parmar, David Brock and Dennis Tristram keep their positions in the top four while a run to the semi-final sees Graham Beardmore climb into fifth place.
