The World Seniors Snooker (WSS) ranking lists have been updated following the seventh event of the Race to the Crucible series at The Crucible Club in Reading last weekend.
The top two players on the official WSS ranking list, as well as the top two on the ‘Race to the Crucible’ one-year list will earn their places in the World Seniors Championship, and they will be joined by the winner of a ‘Top 16 Shootout’ event – where players ranked between third and tenth on each list will compete for the final place.
One point is awarded for each frame won at an event and, should the same players sit in the top two of both rankings lists, then the official world rankings would take priority.
Andrew Norman is the new World Seniors Snooker world number one after reaching a fourth successive Race to the Crucible event final last weekend.
He overtakes previous leader Wayne Townsend, who fell in the semi-finals of the latest tournament, and Norman now sits at the summit of the ranking list by two points.
A first title of the season for former World Seniors Snooker champion Aaron Canavan sees him rise to third, just two points behind Townsend who holds on to the automatic qualification places.
Fellow previous event winners Dharminder Lilly and Alfie Burden make up the top five with just two regular season events remaining and no further points to be defended.
Wayne Townsend has returned to the summit of the Race to the Crucible Series ranking list with another deep run in Reading last weekend.
The 45-year-old Englishman has reached at least the quarter-finals of six out of the seven events staged so far this campaign and continued this form by reaching the semi-finals in Reading.
Previous leader Dharminder Lilly drops back to second, but trails Townsend by just a single point, while a fourth final in a row for Andrew Norman sees him climb further from fifth to third in the latest rankings list.
Event seven champion Aaron Canavan rises to fourth as a result, while the top five is completed by former professional Gerard Greene from Northern Ireland.
John Hunter remains at the top of the Super Seniors ranking list after reaching the semi-finals in Reading last weekend.
A double-event winner this season, the 58-year-old maintains a 12-point lead in top spot over recent losing finalist David Brock.
Anthony Harris’ third Super Seniors title of the season has seen him rise into fourth while the remainder of the top five is made up of Mukesh Parmar and Dennis Tristram.
