Aaron Canavan rose to prominence in 2018 when he became the first exclusively amateur player to win the World Seniors Championship.
A car restorer by trade, Canavan came through qualifying in Dunstable, before he defeated 1985 world champion Dennis Taylor, John Farrell, Cao Kaisheng and finally Patrick Wallace 4-3 in the final.
The victory earned him a place at the professional World Championship qualifiers in Sheffield, where he lost out 10-1 to former world number 12 Robert Milkins.
A year after his World Seniors Championship success, the cueist from Jersey reached the final of the Seniors 6-Red World Championship in Belfast before losing to Jimmy White in the title match.
