Bio

David Lilley became the first player to beat Jimmy White in a World Seniors Championship final by defeating ‘The Whirlwind’ at the Crucible Theatre in 2021.

Lilley, from the North East, swept aside Philip Williams, Ken Doherty and Patrick Wallace to reach the final before overcoming White 5-3 in the final to secure the title.

The success earned Lilley a place in the 2021 Champion of Champions, where he lost to Judd Trump in the opening round.

The Englishman did not turn professional under 2019, at the age of 44, and remains competitive on the World Snooker Tour with two ranking event quarter-finals to his name to date.
