The World Seniors Snooker (WSS) ranking lists have been updated following the third event of the Race to the Crucible series at The Crucible Club in Reading last weekend.
The top two players on the official WSS ranking list, as well as the top two on the ‘Race to the Crucible’ one-year list will earn their places in the World Seniors Championship, and they will be joined by the winner of a ‘Top 16 Shootout’ event – where players ranked between third and tenth on each list will compete for the final place.
One point is awarded for each frame won at an event and, should the same players sit in the top two of both rankings lists, then the official world rankings would take priority.
Dharminder Lilly’s tournament victory last weekend in Reading has seen him climb above Stuart Watson and into first place in the official two-year world ranking list.
Watson, who did not compete in event three of the Race to the Crucible series, remains in the top two automatic qualification positions and holds a three-point lead over Wayne Townsend – who fell at the quarter-final stage in Reading last weekend.
Event one winner Alfie Burden remains in fourth spot despite not competing in the most recent event and sits nine points behind second-placed Watson.
Gary Filtness, Nigel Howe, Philip Williams, Aaron Canavan, Neil Craycraft and Gerard Greene currently make up the rest of the top ten positions while event two champion Rory McLeod climbs up four places to 13th.
Dharminder Lilly also moves to first place in the Race to the Crucible series ranking list following his victory in the third event last weekend.
Lilly followed up runs to the semi-finals and quarter-finals of the first two events by going all the way in event three and now sits at the summit of the series ranking list by seven points.
Wayne Townsend, who reached the quarter-finals, returns to second position and opens up a seven point gap on third-placed Anthony Harris.
Alfie Burden, who took the title in event one, drops four places to fifth place while event two champion Rory McLeod drops to 15th.
The remainder of the top 10 positions are currently taken up by Gary Filtness, Aaron Canavan, Philip Williams, Gerard Greene, Mark Bell and Nigel Howe.
John Hunter has maintained his position at the top of the Super Seniors ranking list after picking up his second title of the season last weekend in Reading.
Mukesh Parmar, who lost 2-1 in the final to Hunter, sits in second position – three points behind first-placed Hunter.
David Brock, Dennis Tristam and Andy Booker make up the rest of the top five.
